I’ve been using Noel Marcantel Photography’s studio for my headshot clients here in New Orleans, and it’s been a great experience every time. The space is well-equipped with professional lighting and grip gear, which makes setup smooth and efficient. There are also thoughtful touches that make a difference like a coffee machine, a variety of props, and comfortable seating for clients while they wait or relax between shots. The studio itself is clean, functional, and easy to work in. One of the biggest advantages is the location, it’s right in a central part of the city, making it convenient for both me and my clients to access without hassle. This review is long overdue. I was in the market for some professional head shots for my daughter. This seemingly easy task was quite challenging to me. My daughter is 10 and I am always very concerned with keeping her age-appropriate. We found Noel from a dancer's social media page. My daughter dances, does music, acts, does voice overs, travels for jobs, has a book, and does many more things that keep me super busy. Sure has worked with a few celebrities and is truly an artistic person. In researching Noel's work, I was speechless at the quality that he produced. More so I was very impressed at the ability to be able to look at his portraits and feel as if I was there. They were timeless. I booked an appointment immediately after us emailing a few times and he accommodated us late on a Saturday because of our busy schedule. I really appreciated that he flew in from Vegas after a shoot and came straight to the studio for our appointment. Like WOW! I was happy that the studio was located in Mid City too. Upon walking in the studio, it is noticeable that every detail was taken into consideration because it is very appeasing and calm. Although the studio is small, it is very quaint and peaceful. I am a "less is more" person so I appreciated this. There is a seating area, food area, glam area, office area, and then there is the actual shooting floor, where the work is being done. We didn't go past that, but I could see there was more rooms down a hall. On numerous occasions, I was able to sit on the sofa while watching my daughter get to work. There were screens everywhere so we saw the photos being taken in real time. I was overly impressed with how Noel gave my daughter feedback and let her see how she could improve her pictures each time he gave her direction. Although my daughter is a seasoned model, for some reason she was quite nervous during this photo shoot and needed more direction than I would've thought. And this was the actual first photo shoot that I decreased my directing from behind the camera. I wanted her to come into her own and I trusted Noel's vision. Noel was very patient with her and even tried to make her laugh on several occasions to get versatile expressions. We chatted about our shared views and he even took some funny photos of her. I appreciated this because this was a professional photo shoot, but he didn't forget that she was still a child. After we were done working, he had a surprise waiting for all of us (me, my daughter, and my mom). This was very thoughtful and kind. We sat in the viewing area, and went through all of our photos. Noel also gave us feedback for future jobs and his views on looks and how to approach casting jobs. This was much more than what I paid for and I appreciated that. The best part for me was seeing Noel receive my feedback and also listening to my daughter's feedback...like actually listening. He did not question or dismiss anything that she had to say. For instance, in one photo that he liked, she didn't. She thought her face looked "weird". Without questioning it, Noel got rid of the photo. It was amazing to see her come into knowing how she wants to be presented to the world and also voicing that. It takes a special person to be able to reach both a child and an overly involved mother. But listening to him share some about his family, I see why he is so blessed. I am super grateful to Noel for listening to my daughter and giving her a space where she felt seen and heard. This is amazing customer focused service. We will definitely be returning to get some dancing shots and will have him as our photographer for future projects. We wish Noel and his family much happiness and success and pray blessings in their lives.
